Watering Restrictions

Garden Hose Sprinkler

What's Changing?

I have met several of you, but let me introduce myself.  My name is Jim Lafferty and I am the Neighborhood Service Officer for the Town of Wellington.  I have taken over for the previous Code Enforcement Officer, Steve Norden.

As I'm sure everyone is aware, on June 9, 2020, the Wellington Town Board enacted mandatory water restrictions until Oct 15, 2020.  The ordinance is currently on the town website at www.wellingtoncolorado.gov.   I also wanted to send each of you a copy in case you wanted to provide it to each of your homeowners.  If you have any questions, please feel free to email me or leave me a message at 970-568-9000.

Thank you and have a good day.

Neighborhood Watering FAQs

Q: Why is the HOA watering the Public Areas more often then I can water my lawn?

A: The Public Areas and some properties in the neighborhood are watered by untreated well-water, not the Town's treated water supply and are not subject to the same restrictions.

Q: Will I be fined if my lawn begins to go dormant due to lack of sufficient watering?

A: Probably not. Even with the reduced watering your grass should not go completely dormant. Need an idea of what your grass could look like? Check out the picture below!

Q: Who do I contact with questions on the watering restrictions?

A:  Feel free to reach out to Jim Lafferty, the Neighborhood Services Officer for the Town of Wellington. His contact info is located above.
